Acting is inspiration
(English)
We use our thoughts and actions to convey our stories in ways that reach the audience and other actors to create life on stage and screen.
Yet there is a third aspect to our ability to express, the voice .
Often underestimated and overlooked, the voice is an instrument with complex needs.
When we give the voice proper training and care , it becomes one of our most dynamic tools for expression .
Often in film and television we allow the microphone to do the work for us, resulting in flat, uninspired and whispery levels of expression that rarely reach the maximum power that the well-trained voice is able to convey.
In this three day intensive we will start from the ground up in giving you the knowledge and practical skills to use your instrument to the fullest capacity .
Beginning with the breath and the anatomy of the voice, we will then move into the four elemental centers of the voice and experiment with expression and grounding of the voice for stage and screen.
Our work will then shift to clarity , using diction , articulation and punctuation of the text to unlock the road map that the screenwriter and playwright gives the actor to inform the rhythm and cadence of the text.
Last we will film a scene for your showreels that showcases what the voice can do, shifting and changing with the journey of the scene itself.
Acting is inspiration
(Italian)
We use thoughts and actions to tell our stories to the public
and to other actors both in the theatre and in the cinema.
Yet there is a third aspect to our ability to express ourselves:
the voice. Often undervalued and overlooked, the voice is an instrument with complex needs.
However, when we give the voice proper training and care ,
becomes one of our most dynamic expressive tools .
Often on TV and film sets we let the microphone do the work for us, resulting in flat, banal, whispered levels of expression that rarely reach the maximum potential that a well-trained voice is capable of transmitting.
In this three-day intensive workshop we will start from the ABC
to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to use your instrument to its full potential in the English language.
Starting with the breath and the anatomy of the voice, we will then move to the four elementary centers of the voice and experience the expression
and its rooting in the theatre and cinema.
Our work will then shift to clarity , using the diction , articulation and punctuation of the text to unlock the map of rhythm and cadence that screenwriters and playwrights have provided us.
Finally, we will film a scene for your showreel that shows what the voice can do, moving in the body and changing to accommodate
the journey of the scene.
